Police: Juvenile dies after being hit by truck in Leominster

LEOMINSTER, Mass. — Authorities are investigating after a juvenile was hit by a truck and killed in Leominster on Monday.

According to police, officers responding to the area of Market Basket on Sack Boulevard around 6:07 p.m. for a report of a pedestrian struck found a juvenile victim suffering from critical injuries.

The victim was transported to Leominster Hospital where they were pronounced deceased a short time later. Their identity is not being released at this time.

Investigators say the victim was hit by a 2018 white Chevrolet Silverado registered out of Maine. The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with police, according to officials.

An investigation into the facts and circumstances of the crash is being conducted by the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office, the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit, the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Unit, & the Leominster Police Department.

“The Leominster Police Department extends their sincere condolences to all who are impacted by this tragic event,” Chief Ryan D. Malatos said.
