Police investigating shooting at Braintree apartment complex

BRAINTREE, Mass. — An investigation is underway after a person was shot at an apartment complex in Braintree on Friday afternoon, authorities announced Saturday.

Officers responding to a report of a person shot at the Ridge at Blue Hills at 800 West Street around 3 p.m. found a male suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg, according to the Braintree Police Department.

The victim was treated at the scene and taken to an area hospital for additional evaluation. Police noted that his injuries don’t appear to be life-threatening.

While no arrests have been made, police don’t believe there is any ongoing threat to the public.
