4 Billerica teens arrested after shooting into a Tewksbury HS crowd with a pellet gun

TEWKSBURY — Mark Carroll is the parent of a Tewksbury High student. They were not at the game last night but he was shocked to hear four Billerica high school teens used a pellet gun to spray a crowd leaving the basketball game between Billerica and Tewksbury.

“I’ve never heard of something like that before,” said Mark Carroll who is a Tewksbury Memorial High School parent.

He says the rivalry between Billerica and Tewksbury is strong but the kids who did this went too far.

Tewksbury Police tell Boston 25 that four Billerica teens were arrested including 18-year-old Allane Sonny Takock. The other three are juveniles. One is 17 years old, the other two are 16 years old. All are charged with assault and battery with a  dangerous weapon.

“You can think back to when you were a kid and there have always been rivalries.. and maybe pranks or something like that but I was a little over the top I think,” said Carroll.

Police say all seven people were hit but none sought hospital care. The type of pellet gun used is a gel blaster.

“It’s terrible it’s awful. What a world,” said Joanne Keeler who is from Billerica. She’s glad the kids who allegedly did this were caught.

“Yes, I am they know that’s wrong it’s no mystery. They know it’s. not right,” said Keeler.

As for Mark Carroll, he wants the kids to be punished but hopes the schools can deal with it on their own.

“You don’t want to see an incident like that but at the same time kids do stupid things and I hope he gets punished within the school system is not something more than that,” said Carroll.

The Superintendent of Billerica Public Schools is Timothy Piwowar. He released a statement which says in part:

“The police are still investigating the incident and the students, who were allegedly in possession of the air/water pellet discharge device, are not currently in the school building. The school also stands prepared to respond with appropriate discipline if the investigation warrants.”

After what happened on Thursday night Billerica students will not be allowed to attend the school’s hockey game against Tewksbury on Saturday.
