BOSTON — An investigation is underway after a student was stabbed inside a school in Boston on Monday morning.
Officers responding to a report of a stabbing at Burke High School in Dorchester around 11 a.m. found an 18-year-old male suffering from non-life-threatening stab wound to his back and shoulder, according to Boston police.
The student was rushed to a local hospital and is expected to survive.
Police say the suspect fled the scene following the incident.
Authorities believe the incident was between limited to the two students involved.
Boston Public Schools issued a statement which said, in part, “The safety and security of our students and staff are the top priority for Boston Public Schools. Violence has no place in our school communities.”
