BOSTON — Boston 25 obtained video of a man as he stumbled to his car in East Boston on Thursday afternoon. Sky 25 was over the scene of what’s now a murder investigation. That man who stumbled to that car later died.
“It’s awful…it’s awful,” said Brendan Brooks, who lives up the street
Police found the man inside a black sedan parked across from 7 Shelby St. in East Boston. Police initially believed the man was stabbed but later say he suffered traumatic injuries. They would not confirm if he was shot.
“This neighborhood is turning around, but just from what I’ve heard today Shelby Street is not known to be good,” said Cait Daley of East Boston.
Daley has lived around the corner for the past 10 years.
“I walk the dogs down here all the time,” she said.
Investigators and police with K-9s scoured the street looking for clues. Other neighbors were shocked by the violence.
“It’s not anything you want to see….I teach too in the neighborhood. It’s a safe community. It’s a great community,” Brooks said.
Police focused much of their time on the vehicle the victim was found in. The car was later towed away. The entire incident left people who live there wondering who did this and why?
“They’re trying to change the neighborhood for sure. Everything is positive on that note. I mean, like I said, things are changing, but you’ve got to be pretty ballsy to do it in front of the new police station,” Daley said.
Boston Police say they have no suspect or suspects at this time. They’re asking anyone with any info about what happened there to give them a call.
