Police identify pedestrian killed in hit-and-run in Weymouth

WEYMOUTH, Mass. — Weymouth Police are searching for a driver who struck and killed a 61-year-old woman in a hit-and-run pedestrian crash early Saturday morning.

The victim, Xuan D. Vo of South Weymouth, was struck by a motor vehicle while walking in the area of Pleasant Street at Ralph Talbot before the driver then fled the scene, police said.

At around 2:45 a.m. Saturday, a Weymouth police officer on patrol saw the female victim lying on the sidewalk and immediately attempted lifesaving efforts.

“We are urging the operator to do the right thing and turn themselves in at the Weymouth Police Department,” police said in a Facebook post.

The matter remains under investigation by the Weymouth Police Department with the participation of the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office motor vehicle homicide unit.
