Police: Driver cited after hitting tandem bicyclists with car door in Cambridge

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Two people riding a tandem bicycle in Cambridge were injured when a passing driver hit them with a car door, police said.

The incident happened shortly before 1 p.m. Saturday at Rogers Street and Third Street, according to tweets from the Cambridge Police Department.

Police said one rider had an arm injury, while the other’s hand was injured. Both riders were conscious and alert when emergency crews arrived.

The driver remained at the scene and was cited for the incident.
