Police: Driver blew through red light, flipped car in three-vehicle crash in Cohasset

COHASSET, Mass — A Cohasset man is facing negligent driving charges after police say he blew through a red light and hit two other vehicles before flipping his car Wednesday afternoon.

Witnesses told police the 73-year-old Cohasset man drove his 2021 Subaru through the red light at the intersection of Route 3A and Beechwood Street at about 1:20 p.m.

The driver allegedly clipped a UPS truck and a 2016 Honda before flipping the Subaru onto its side. Paramedics pulled the driver from the crashed vehicle. Police say he refused medical treatment.

The driver of the struck Honda, a 62-year-old Cohasset woman, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital. The UPS driver was unhurt.

Police say traffic on 3A was impacted for around an hour while crews worked to clean the wreck.
