Pedestrian suffers life-threatening injuries following Cambridge crash

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — A pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries Monday night after being hit by a car on Memorial Drive in Cambridge, MA State Police announced. That crash happened just before 9:14 p.m. on Monday, prompting the road to be closed at the JFK Bridge.

The 28-year-old victim from California was transported to Beth Israel Hospital with serious life-threatening injuries.

A 29-year-old female was driving the Toyota Corolla involved in the crash. Police said she remained on scene and was cooperative, and suffered no injuries from the crash.

Police say it’s believed that the vehicle was traveling eastbound on Memorial Drive in the area of the intersection with DeWolfe Street when the pedestrian entered the roadway on the Weeks Footbridge before she was struck.

The crash remains under investigation by the Troop H of the Massachusetts State Police with assistance from the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, State Police Crime Scene Services Section, and Cambridge Police and Fire.
