FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — Patriots announce the elevation of Running Back Terrell Jennings, Wide Reciever Alex Erickson, and Linebacker Monty Rice to the active 53-man roster.
Jennings, 23, was a rookie free agent from Florida A&M and was signed by the Patriots to their practice squad before the 2024 season. He made his season debut against the Houston Texans on October 13.
Erickson, 32, is an 8-year veteran of the league, playing with the Cincinnati Bengals (2016-20), Carolina Panthers (2021), Washington Commanders (2022) and the Los Angeles Chargers (2023). Erickson was a rookie free agent in 2016, playing college ball for the Wisconsin Badgers. Since 2016, he has played in 107 games, starting 17, with career totals of 112 receptions for 1,373 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also returned 162 punts for 1,303 yards and 110 kickoffs for 2,729 yards. He signed to the Patriots practice squad on Wednesday, December 18.
Rice, 25, was a 2021 third-round pick by the Titans from the Georgia Bulldogs. Rice played 35 games for the Titans, starting 10 of them, and totaling 110 tackles, 18 special teams tackles, and 2 passes defended. Rice was released on December 5, 2023, and was claimed off waivers by New Orleans on December 6, 2023. Rice went inactive for 5 games on the Saints and spent the beginning of the 2024 season with the Atlanta Falcons. He was released on October 21. He signed with the Pats practice squad on November 5.
The Patriots travel to Buffalo for a Sunday evening matchup against the Bills.
