SAUGUS, MASS — Route 1 in Saugus has reopened after a tractor-trailer crash involving a fuel spill closed part of the road for over three hours.
Lanes on the northbound side of the highway were closed between the Lynn Fells Parkway and Walnut Street.
The truck spilled about 70 gallons of fuel. Crews are working to clear the mess.
Motorists were urged to avoid the area until further notice.
It’s not clear if anyone was injured in the crash.
The cause of the wreck remains under investigation.
