Owner of Boston dog training facility to be arraigned on animal cruelty charges

BOSTON — The owner of a dog training facility in Boston is expected in court Wednesday to face animal cruelty charges after pets were allegedly abused on the premises.

Tyler Falconer, 30, of Burlington, is slated to be arraigned in South Boston Municipal Court on charges including three felony counts of animal cruelty and three counts of tethering confinement, according to a spokesperson for the Suffolk District Attorney’s Office.

Falconer is the former owner of Falco K9, a canine training and boarding facility in the city’s Southie section. His business was shut down in March after customers alleged the facility mistreated their pets.

Falconer failed to provide dogs with the necessary amount of food and water, court documents indicated.

The Animal Rescue League of Boston told Boston 25 News in March they were aware of social media posts on the treatment of dogs and that they were investigating the matter.
