FRAMINGHAM, Mass. — A popular out-of-state chain voted the “best grocery store in America” on three occasions has opened two new locations in Massachusetts.
The Fresh Market, headquartered in Greensboro, North Carolina, recently announced the opening of stores at 280 School Street in Mansfield and 84 Worcester Road in Framingham, the Boston Business Journal reported.
Before the new openings, The Fresh Market had just one Bay State store at 11 Essington Drive in Hingham. Connecticut is the only other New England state with Fresh Market stores, boasting three locations.
In recent weeks, The Fresh Market has also opened new stores in Kentucky, Illinois, and Maryland amid an ongoing growth spurt, the BBJ reported.
The new Massachusetts stores will both offer in-house smoked pit barbecue and Italian-style hot pizza, according to the report.
In 2023, 2022, and 2021, USA Today’s 10 Best Readers’ Choice Awards recognized The Fresh Market as the best supermarket in the country.
