One person dead, multiple others injured in high-speed NH crash, including two children

EAST KINGSTON, N.H. — A man has died and others were injured, including two young children, after a high-speed single car crash in a Rockingham County town Tuesday afternoon.

Officers responding to the area of Burnt Swamp Road in East Kingston around 1:40 p.m. found a car wrapped around a tree, with the vehicle’s occupants all seriously injured, according to New Hampshire State Police. Authorities say excessive speed was a contributing factor in the crash.

The adult man driving the car was pronounced dead at the scene, while a woman in the passengers seat was transported to a Boston hospital via medical helicopter for treatment for her injuries. Officials also say a 9-month-old and a 3-year-old were in the car at the time of the crash and both sustained serious injuries.

The name of the deceased man is being withheld pending next of kin notification.

Multiple agencies assisted NHSP in responding to the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
