One hospitalized after fire at home in Fitchburg

FITCHBURG, Mass. — One person has been hospitalized after a fire in Fitchburg on Tuesday night.

According to Fitchburg Police, crews were called to a home on Charles Street around 9:10 p.m.

Upon arrival, firefighters learned that the fire started in the basement and extended into the attic due to a balloon frame construction.

One resident was transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation.

An overloaded electrical circuit was the cause of the fire.
