UPDATE: Police identify person killed in Monday shooting

BOSTON — A person has died following a shooting in Dorchester Monday afternoon.

Boston Police identified the victim as Roosevelt Thornton Jr., a 33-year-old from Boston, Thursday afternoon.

Police say Thornton was shot on Norwell Street shortly after noon on Monday. Thornton was transported to a local hospital for injuries sustained in the shooting, and later died.

The investigation is ongoing. So far no arrests have been made. Police ask anyone with any information to please contact Boston Police Homicide Detectives at (617) 343-4470.
