State trooper hospitalized after being hit by car in Brookline, police say

BROOKLINE, Mass. — A State Police trooper is recovering after being struck by a car on Thursday morning.

Officers responding to the area of Hammond Pond Parkway around 10:40 a.m. found a Massachusetts State Police Motorcycle Unit Trooper who had been hit by a vehicle while providing an escort, according to authorities. The trooper was transported to a Boston hospital with minor injuries.

It is unclear if the driver of the car will face charges.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
