PELHAM, N.H. — A New Hampshire man is facing charges after police say he was caught driving more than 50 mph over the speed limit early Tuesday morning.
Daniel Demers, 55, of Pelham, is slated to be arraigned in Salem District Court later this month on charges of aggravated driving under the influence, driving under the influence, and reckless operation, according to the Pelham Police Department.
An officer monitoring traffic on Bridge Street just before 12:30 a.m. spotted a Ford F-150 pickup truck speed past his location at 101 mph in a 50 mph zone, police said.
“The officer was able to safely stop the vehicle and identify the driver as Demers,” the department said in a statement. “Upon further investigation, it was determined that the driver was impaired.”
Demers is due in court on the morning of Jan. 27, 2025.
An investigation is ongoing.
