CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Massachusetts is home to some of the very best colleges and universities in the United States.
With the first “early decision” college-application deadline looming on Nov. 1, and tuition and room and board at a four-year college costing around $23,000 - $52,000 per year, WalletHub released its 2023′s Best College & University Rankings report on Monday.
In an effort to help college-bound seniors choose the best schools within their states, the personal-finance website says it compared over 900 institutions based on 30 key measures grouped into seven categories, such as student selectivity, cost and financing, and career outcomes. The data set ranged from student-faculty ratio to graduation rate to post-attendance median salary.
The Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge was ranked the top higher-education institute in the country, followed by Yale University, the California Institute of Technology, Princeton University, and Harvard University.
