New England is home to the most beautiful and third-most beautiful towns in America, according to a new ranking.
The Travel recently published its “10 Most Beautiful Towns In The US As Of 2022″ in an effort to highlight the country’s top “small-town destinations that are a feast for the eyes and then some.”
In the report, the website wrote, “More than a few places have it all—gorgeous scenery, rich history, incredible attractions, and ample touristy activities. Yet, often travelers overlook these places because they want to experience all the glitz and glam of the major cities nearby.”
There were no Massachusetts towns that landed on the list, but a pair of scenic New England destinations made up two of the top three spots in the ranking.
Camden, Maine, was crowned the most beautiful town in the country.
“This small seaside New England town is the place to be if you want to enjoy phenomenal mountain and sea views as far as the eye can see,” the website said of Camden.
Woodstock, Vermont, checked in at third on the list.
“With its forested land, endless miles of foliage, and easy access to the Green Mountains, Woodstock, Vermont, was always going to be a shoo-in,” the website wrote. “This famed US town has a lovely downtown area, antique shops aplenty, picturesque historic B&Bs, cute covered bridges, and seasonal festivities.”
The top 10 towns were ranked as follows:
10. Cordova, Alaska
9. Sedona, Arizona
8. Cannon Beach, Oregon
7. Haleiwa, Hawaii
6. McCloud, California
5. Port Townsend, Washington
