Needham pedestrian suffers serious injuries during car crash

NEEDHAM, Mass — A pedestrian has been rushed to the hospital following a car crash in Needham Thursday morning.

According to Needham police, officers responded to the area of Great Plain Avenue and Rivard Road just before 11:00 a.m. for a report of a car into a telephone pole.

Upon arrival police found a pedestrian suffering from serious injuries and immediately began administering aid. The pedestrian was quickly transported to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.

The driver of the white vehicle, which Boston 25 News camera caught rammed into a nearby telephone pole, remained at the scene. The driver was eventually transported to Newton-Wellesley Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

The crash is being investigated by Needham police, the Norfolk District Attorney’s office, and the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction section.
