MERRIMACK, N.H. — The Evertt Turnpike was closed for 2 hours following a crash that left a Nashua man seriously injured.

State Troopers, alongside members of the Merrimack Fire and Rescue Department and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation, were dispatched around 4:28 p.m. to reports of a vehicle crash.

Upon arrival, first responders found 19-year-old Michael Ruiz of Nashua in the embankment after his Honda Accord struck the construction barrels at the Exit 10 offramp.

Preliminary investigations believed that speed was a factor.

Ruiz was transported to the hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

All Northbound lanes were closed for 2 hours to clean debris but has since been reopened.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.
