For the second time in as many days, local authorities had their hands full responding to numerous hoax threats directed at schools across the Commonwealth Tuesday morning.
State Police say between 10 a.m. and noon, bomb and shooting threats were made against schools in Springfield, Great Barrington, Greenfield, Clinton, Duxbury, Edgartown, Harwich and Fall River. All of these threats were determined to be a hoax, according to law enforcement officials.
The communities of Ipswich, Fitchburg and Hingham also received fake shooting threats on Tuesday.

Police say the threats made were consistent in content with each other and similar to the threats the state experienced yesterday. State Police patrols, K9 units, Bomb Squad teams and local authorities all responded quickly and cleared every school until they were sure the threats were fickle.
The Massachusetts State Police Fusion Center is investigating the source or sources of the threats.
The investigation is ongoing.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.
