NASHUA, N.H. — The New Hampshire State Police Major Crime Unit was at the house removing evidence from 3:30 until 5 p.m. on Wednesday. It’s unclear why they suddenly returned to the home now blocked off with crime scene tape. Earlier, two uncles of Elijah Lewis, the missing Merrimack, N.H. boy, pleaded with their sister to tell authorities what happened to the boy.

“We do love you, but you need to tell,” John Dauphinais said.

“You got to tell us where he is,” Randy Stewart added.

Their sister, Danielle Dauphinais, is facing criminal charges related to Elijah’s disappearance. She is now held without bail along with her boyfriend, Joseph Staph, who is facing similar charges. The pair was located Sunday in New York and arrested.

“DD please, please talk to us. Talk to the detectives. Let us know where Elijah is,” Randy Stewart said alongside his brother as they stood outside Hillsboro County Superior Court in Nashua, N.H.

N.H. authorities now say that Elijah has been missing for at least 30 days. Previously, N.H. authorities said no one had seen Elijah for six months. Boston 25 News asked the lead prosecutor on the case if this raised hopes that Elijah might be found alive.

“We all want to have hope,” said Susan Morell the Senior Assistant N.H. Attorney General. “We have no way of knowing. They’re going to continue to investigate aggressively and thoroughly to try and find him.”

Elijah Lewis lived with his mother at a home on Sunset Drive in Merrimack. The property sits on Naticook Lake, a body of water authorities recently searched for Elijah. A Merrimack, N.H. Police officer stood guard at the home on Wednesday.

Danielle Dauphinais’ brothers said they were under the impression that Danielle was sending Elijah to California to live with another sister whose husband is an expert in mental health issues. They added that Elijah as prone to temper tantrums.

Boston 25 News asked the brothers if they think that Danielle knows what happened to her son.

“I hope she does, and I hope she says something,” John Dauphinais said.

“That’s why we’re here,” Randy Stewart added. “That’s why we are talking. We want her to see us.”
