BOSTON — A beloved member of the 2011 Stanley Cup championship team is returning to the Boston Bruins for another go around wearing black and gold.

The team confirmed that Milan Lucic is coming back with a “welcome home” post on social media.

According to Pierre LeBrun, Lucic’s deal in Boston is a one-year deal with, a $1M base salary plus performance bonuses.

Over the course of eight seasons and 566 games in Boston, Lucic scored 139 goals, tallied 203 assists, and racked up 1,580 hits.

Lucic, now 35, led the Bruins with 30 goals during the 2010-2011 season. Boston would go on to defeat the Vancouver Canucks that season in seven games to become world champions.

In eight seasons since departing Boston, Lucic has remained productive on the offensive and defensive end, scoring 94 goals and dishing out 1,672 hits.

Lucic remains close with a number of Bruins players, including longtime veterans Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci, who both hoisted the Stanley Cup alongside him in 2011.
