Memorial Day services being held across Massachusetts

BOSTON — Communities across Massachusetts will pause Monday for Memorial Day to honor those who have died in the nation’s wars.

More than 37,000 American flags are on display at Boston Common. Each flag represents a Bay State resident who was killed in a war dating back to the American Revolution.

Memorial Day parades will be held in many cities and towns, including Norfolk, Scituate, Holbrook, Topsfield, Danvers, Methuen, Attleboro, and Dartmouth.

Gov. Charlie Baker is slated to attend special services in Winchendon and Boston.

President Joe Biden will lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.
