MEDFIELD, Mass — A MedFlight helicopter had to be called but a crash victim is expected to be okay after a serious wreck in Medfield Wednesday afternoon.

The crash occurred near the intersection of Route 27 and West Street around 1:00 p.m., according to Medfield Fire-Rescue. A hydroseeding truck and a red Subaru SUV collided, bending a guard rail around a traffic light pole as the demolished SUV came to rest in a ditch.

Several emergency crews responded to the crash, including a Boston MedFlight helicopter, according to officials.

The Medfield police chief told Boston 25 News shortly before 10:00 p.m. that although the victim had to be flown to a hospital, their injuries are considered to be non-life-threatening.

The driver of the truck was not hurt.

The wrecked SUV was lifted and removed from the ditch shortly before 5:00 p.m.
