Mass. woman strikes it rich after receiving free lottery ticket

RANDOLPH, Mass. — A Massachusetts woman recently struck it rich after she hit big on a free Mass Cash ticket that she received as part of lottery promotion.

Maria Cherisme, of Randolph, became the third person to win a $100,000 grand prize on a free Mass. Lottery promotional ticket since last October, officials announced Wednesday.

The “Rake in the Winnings” promotion began Oct. 3 and will continue through Oct. 30. With the purchase of $5 or more of any draw or monitor game on a single ticket, customers have a chance to win a free $1 ticket for a Mass Lottery game.

Cherisme received her lucky ticket after making her purchase at Lucky Spot Convenience Store in Randolph.

She won her prize when the five numbers on her ticket matched those selected in the Mass Cash drawing on Oct. 7.

In separate promotions in April 2022 and October 2021, two lottery customers each won $100,000 Mass Cash prizes on promotional tickets.
