SHREWSBURY, Mass. — Market Basket is celebrating the grand opening of a new Massachusetts location that has a giant liquor store on Friday.
The Tewksbury-based grocery chain is opening Market Basket #93 at 200 Hartford Turnpike in Shrewsbury, according to the store’s website.
The store, which is more than 80,000 square feet, boasts a Market Kitchen and a Market Cafe in addition to a massive beer, wine, and spirits section in a separate building next to the store.

“Come visit us for More For Your Dollar on beer, wine, and liquor – located next door to your newest Market Basket location,” the chain said in a Facebook post.
Customers will also be able to enjoy an in-store butcher, a sushi counter, a bakery, and a fresh-cut fruit department.
Store hours will be the same as all Market Basket locations. Hours for MB Spirits differ slightly.
The grand opening of the store was supposed to happen in 2022 but it was delayed due to supply chain issues.
Former Lt. Gov. Karyn Polito, a Shrewsbury native, shared her excitement for the new store earlier this week.
In a tweet, she wrote, “Thank you, Market Basket, for opening your newest store in Shrewsbury with hundreds of jobs and value for customers! We’re proud to have you here!”
Market Basket, which started in Lowell in 1917, now operates more than 80 locations across New England.
