Man stabbed in NH mall parking lot in critical condition, police say

SALEM, N.H. — Authorities say they’ll be executing several search warrants in connection to a stabbing Thursday night that left a man with serious injuries.

Officers responding to the Mall at Rockingham Park just after 8 p.m. for a report of a stabbing in the parking lot found a 20-year-old Windham man with a significant stab wound to his torso near the Food Court entrance, according to Salem Police.

Emergency responders placed a chest seal on the victim’s wound and transported him to Lawrence General Hospital. He was then flown to a Boston hospital with injuries that are considered to be life-threatening.

Investigators say several witnesses were identified and a vehicle was seen fleeing the scene shortly after the stabbing.

The vehicle was later found abandoned in Salem overnight, and a person suffering a stab wound to the arm appeared at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester who was involved with the incident, according to police.

Detectives additionally executed a search warrant related to the crime in Londonderry overnight. Officials say they’re working on more search warrants to apprehend the suspects involved.

“At this time, it is believed that all parties involved in this incident have been identified and there is no ongoing threat to the public,” a Salem Police spokesperson said in a press release.

Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to contact Detective James Carlin at 603-893-1911.

Both Manchester and Londonderry Police Departments assisted Salem authorities with the investigation.
