NEW BEDFORD, Mass. — A man has been arrested in connection with a deadly shooting at a New Bedford restaurant early Saturday morning.
Police were called to the Morna Lounge and Grill around 1:21 a.m. and found three gunshot wound victims. All three were taken to St. Luke’s Hospital.
A man, identified as Cristiano Macedo, 27 of New Bedford died of his injuries. Two women, both in their 20s underwent treatment and their conditions were not available.
On Sunday night, police arrested 19-year-old Danielson Varela of New Bedford in connection to the shooting.
Varela is being charged with first-degree murder, unlawful possession of a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm, and two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
He will be arraigned on Monday morning at New Bedford District Court.
