BOSTON — A man accused of stabbing a victim several times outside a Boston music venue was arraigned in court on Tuesday.
Collin Hullum, 36, of Boston, was charged with assault to kill and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury. Judge Steven Kim ordered Hullum held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing later this month.
The Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office says around 2:30 a.m. on December 1, officers responding to the Roadrunner on Guest Street for a report of a stabbing found a 26-year-old victim with five stab wounds in his back.
Surveillance video allegedly shows an argument between the victim’s group and three men inside the foyer of Warrior Ice Arena, which is next door to the music venue. Officials say the victim tried stopping the fight. One of the men, later identified as Hullum, could be seen hitting the victim in the back, according to authorities.
The victim could then allegedly be seen clutching his back and running from Hullum.
Investigators say a TikTok video online showed Hullum holding a knife, and that the fight began because Hullum’s sister cut the line at the bar and was confronted for doing so. She allegedly told Hullum she had been attacked.
More surveillance video from the area allegedly shows Hullum walking to his car after the stabbing at approximately 2:46 a.m. A warrant was put out for his arrest.
The DA’s office says a second man was seen carrying a knife during the fight and at one point, tried stabbing two people while inside the Warrior Ice Arena foyer. That suspect has not been identified but will be charged at a later time.
“What was supposed to be an evening out enjoying a show quickly turned into a violent altercation that resulted in one man facing serious injuries and another man facing serious charges,” Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden said. “The victim here seemed to be attempting to stop the violence. I thank him for that and I wish him a full recovery.”
