BILLERICA, Mass. — There has been a major break in one of New England’s longest-running unsolved cases.
Boston 25′s New England’s Unsolved reporter Bob Ward learned that authorities have found Judith Ann Chartier’s car in the Concord River in Billerica. Neither she nor her car has been seen since June 1982.
The Middlesex District Attorney’s Office says crews located “significant portions” of a vehicle in the river. Through a match of Chartier’s VIN number, the pieces were confirmed to be from her vehicle.
The then 17-year-old disappeared after leaving a party in Billerica on June 5, 1982.
