FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — Mac Jones has officially been ruled out against for Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers, the team announced.
This comes after Jones made a surprise return to practice on Friday, with his ankle wrapped tightly.
This was the first time Jones had practiced all week since suffering an injury late in the Patriots loss to the Baltimore Ravens last Sunday.
Coach Bill Belichick said Brian Hoyer would get the start if Jones was unavailable.
The Packers and Patriots are meeting for the first time since 2018.
The Packers won 14-12 at Tampa Bay by holding former Patriots quarterback Tom Brady in check.
