BOSTON — Get ready, clam chowder lovers.

Next week, on Jan. 15, Legal Sea Foods will celebrate “Chowder Day” in Massachusetts, a longstanding tradition of the famed restaurant.

On that day, the restaurant will offer guests a cup of its signature New England Clam Chowder for just $1, and a bowl of chowder for just $2, according to the Legal Sea Foods website. That’s for both dine-in or take-out.

In 2022, the restaurant proclaimed Jan. 15 as its own official “legal” holiday.

“The chowder is world-famous and has been served at every inauguration, a testament to the dish’s irresistible appeal but also highlights its role in American celebratory customs,” the restaurant said in a statement on Monday.

“The hearty, comforting bowl of chowder has warmed guests during winter inaugurations and offered a taste of New England’s finest, regardless of the political climate,” the restaurant said.

Legal Sea Foods has 10 restaurants in Massachusetts. For a list of locations, visit the chain’s website.
