ENFIELD, New Hampshire — The La Salette Shrine and its ministries in Enfield, New Hampshire will close on Oct. 1, 2023, marking the end of an era in the Granite State, shrine officials have announced.
“The difficult decision to close the Shrine and its ministries is because of the declining number of vocations in the La Salette Community,” The Very Rev. William Kaliyadan said in a statement posted on Facebook.
The group would set up light displays annually during the holiday season.
“The La Salette Missionaries take this occasion to thank all our benefactors, associates, friends and Diocese of Manchester who supported our various ministries and La Salette Missionaries in Enfield and beyond,” Kaliyadan said.
The planned closure in New Hampshire does not affect the National Shrine of Our Lady of La Salette in Attleboro, Massachusetts, which is well-known, especially for its Christmas Festival of Lights displays.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.
