WILMINGTON, Mass. — An investigation is underway following an early Saturday morning motor vehicle accident involving a motorcycle and car on I-93 southbound in Wilmington.
The Massachusetts State Police told Boston 25 News the accident occurred at 5:08 a.m. at the 31.5-mile marker, just before Route 129.
When officers arrived on the scene, they located an adult female motorcyclist suffering from severe trauma. She was later transported by the Wilmington Fire Department to Lahey Clinic in Burlington, where she later died. The driver of the motor vehicle remained on scene when police arrived. There were no arrests made.
Both the Massachuetts Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section along with the Crime Scene Services responded to the scene. The accident remains under investigation at this time.
