BOSTON — An investigation is underway after two bodies were found inside a hotel in Boston on Monday, officials said.
Officers responding to a report of a pair of bodies found at 240 Tremont Street shortly before 12:30 p.m. pronounced two people dead upon arrival, according to the Boston Police Department.
A law enforcement source told Boston 25′s Bob Ward that the bodies found in the hotel were that of a man and a woman. The names of the victims haven’t been released.
The Moxy Boston Downtown hotel is listed at 240 Tremont Street in the city’s Theater District, according to Marriot’s website.
A hotel guest told Boston 25′s Bob Ward that there was heavy police presence on the 13th floor of the hotel.
Suffolk District Attorney Kevin R. Hayden said it’s “way too early to tell” if foul play played a role in the deaths and that the public “shouldn’t be concerned at this time.”
Hayden didn’t offer up any additional details, calling the incident an “ongoing death investigation.”
The Boston Police Department’s homicide unit is assisting with the investigation.
