Police seeking potential second car in Worcester crash that killed 1 man, hurt 18-year-old

WORCESTER, Mass. — A 50-year-old man died and an 18-year-old woman was hurt in a car accident Friday night in Worcester.

State Police said Saturday morning that they responded around 7:45 p.m. to a crash involving a Jeep on the ramp from Route 290 Eastbound to Route 190 Northbound in Worcester.

The initial investigation revealed that the man, from Worcester, was driving a 2014 Jeep Wrangler on Route 290 Eastbound and was taking the Route 190 Northbound/Burncoat Street exit ramp onto Route 190 Northbound.

For reasons still being investigated, the Jeep left the ramp from Route 190 Northbound over the sidewall of the left lane side of the overpass and fell on to the travel lanes of Route 290 Eastbound.

The man was pronounced dead on scene. His name is not yet being released.

A second car may have been involved in the crash, police said in its release. The Holden Barracks are seeking any information or dash cam footage and can be contacted at (508) 829-8410.

Route 290 Eastbound was closed for roughly three hours after the accident.
