BRAINTREE, Mass. — A Holbrook man faced a judge Thursday in connection to a deadly crash that killed an 18-year-old Weymouth girl last month.
39-year-old Ryan Gorman pleaded not guilty in Quincy District Court to a charge of motor vehicle homicide while driving under the influence of alcohol related to his role in the collision last month, according to Norfolk County District Attorney Michael Morrissey. Gorman was freed on $5,000 cash bail posted after a previous arraignment on December 2.
On December 1, Braintree Police responded to a head-on crash involving an SUV on Union Street around 12:50 a.m.
Gorman is accused of driving drunk and initiating the collision with the SUV. The SUV had 3 occupants inside, including 18-year-old Alexia Nixon of Weymouth, who passed away from her injuries on December 10.
The other two occupants of the SUV sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries, according to authorities.
At Thursday’s arraignment, Gorman was ordered to stay away and have no contact with the Nixon family and was also ordered to wear a Secure Continuous Remote Alcohol Monitor.
He will return to court on March 6.
