BOSTON — Nick DiGiovanni feels most at home in his kitchen.

“I film every single day in the kitchen and make food videos for all sorts of people all around the world, all different ages. It’s amazing,” he said.

It’s been an amazing couple of years for the 25-year-old Harvard grad. In 2019, DiGiovanni competed on Season 10 of Fox’s hit tv show MasterChef, where he finished in third place. He was the youngest finalist in the show’s history.

DiGiovanni is returning to the show as a mentor for Season 11.

“All of a sudden all of these people are looking to me, as well as the other judges, for advice and for critique and for everything, really. So it’s kind of putting on this different hat and try to figure out how exactly I can be one to provide all that feedback that normally I myself would be looking for, which is kind of interesting,” he commented from his Boston home.

The notoriety of appearing on MasterChef has propelled DiGiovanni into a social media sensation. He’s approaching 10 million followers across his platforms, thanks in part to his home cooking tutorials.

“Now I have this really important responsibility to be providing good well-tested food videos for people. It’s really fun. It’s amazing,” he said.

From his Boston kitchen, DiGiovanni is cooking up quite the career. He has a full plate of projects in the works with a team at Harvard, including, collaborating with a medical school professor on a plant-based pasta for kids. DiGiovanni has also been accepted into the Harvard Business School.

MasterChef airs Wednesday’s 8-9 p.m. on Boston 25.
