BOSTON — The Green Line service resumed after two trains “unintentionally coupled” near the Government Center platform Tuesday night. According to the MBTA, the trains were moving at a slow rate of speed.
Service was suspended for over an hour between Park Street and Government Center stations. Passengers said they had to be escorted out of the train and had to walk through the tunnel back to the Government Center station.
Earlier this month, four workers were injured after a similar incident happened when two Green Line trains collided at the same station. The MBTA later announced that the trains were going too fast and didn’t stop in time.
No reports of injuries from Tuesday’s incident.
Federal regulators are expected to give an update Wednesday morning on their investigation into the safety of the T.
