Great white sharks spotted in water off Cape Cod beaches

CHATHAM, Mass. — Great white sharks were spotted in the water off beaches on Cape Cod on Thursday.

There were reported shark sightings off North Beach Island in Chatham and Head of the Meadow Beach in Truro, according to the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy.

One spotter pilot reported seeing a shark about a quarter-mile off North Beach Island.

A buoy also detected a tagged shark named “Snoop Dogg.”

All of the shark sightings were reported via the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy’s Sharktivity app.

There were no reported beach closures as a result of the sightings.
