Golfer sinks hole-in-one during Massachusetts Women’s Amateur but doesn’t even watch it go in

DEDHAM, Mass. — The majority of amateur golfers tee it up week after week without making a single hole-in-one in their career, but when it does happen, it’s certainly a moment that calls for celebration.

During the quarterfinals round of the 120th Massachusetts Women’s Amateur competition at the Dedham Country & Polo Club on Thursday, Westwood native Lillian Guleserian made an ace -- and she didn’t even see it drop.

Guleserian was playing into the par 3 5th hole, which is listed at 114 yards from the ladies tee on the club’s scorecard, when she landed her ball short of the flag and bounced it right up to the cup and into the bottom.

Video of the shot shared by Mass Golf showed Guleserian causally reaching down to pick up her tee after she saw that her ball was safe aboard the dancefloor. She is then seen suddenly looking up to the sound of applause from those who saw the masterful effort.

Guleserian attends Westwood High School and plays her golf out of the Blue Hill Country Club.

She ultimately went on to fall to Molly Smith, of Vesper Country Club, 6 &4 in the semifinals.
