BOSTON — Frasier has reentered the building.
Paramount+ this week announced that a reboot of the hit 90s sitcom “Frasier,” starring Kelsey Grammer, will debut this fall.
“This new series follows Frasier Crane (Kelsey Grammer) in the next chapter of his life as he returns to Boston, Massachusetts, with new challenges to face, new relationships to forge, and an old dream or two to finally fulfill,” Paramount+ wrote in a description of the show.
A trailer shared by Paramount+ showed a silhouette of the Boston skyline and Zakim Bridge.
The new series, shot in front of a live studio audience in Los Angeles, also stars Jack Cutmore-Scott, Nicholas Lyndhurst, Toks Olagundoye, Jess Salgueiro, and Anders Keith.
Frasier Crane was first introduced to the entertainment world in the 1980s when he appeared in the Boston-based show “Cheers.” The spin-off “Frasier” then followed him back to his hometown of Seattle.
“Frasier” ran for 11 seasons and won 37 Emmy awards.
The reboot will be available for streaming on Oct. 12.
