WEYMOUTH, Mass. — The Fore River Bridge got stuck in the open position, causing major traffic delays on Friday morning.
The bridge closed for emergency repairs around 9:30 a.m. and it reopened to traffic about an hour later.
“Please avoid this area and expect heavy traffic in the landing,” the Weymouth Police Department said in a tweet.
MassDOT also warned of delays on Route 3 north and south.
Motorists were urged to seek alternate routes.
