BOSTON — Boston’s annual New Year’s Eve celebration is back to ring in 2024 in style.
Sunday, Dec. 31, will mark the 49th year the city has hosted a First Night celebration. The 12-hour event starts at City Hall Plaza at noon and ends with a midnight fireworks show over the Boston Harbor.
“We are excited to ring in the new year full of joy and community and health and peace and that starts with keeping ourselves safe on the First Night,” said Boston Mayor Wu.
Boston Police Commissioner Michael Cox have informed the public that law enforcement officials will be stepping up their presence around Boston on Sunday.
“We will have officers in abundance in and around the activities for First Night, for both day and evening,” Cox said.
