BOSTON — The FBI is on the hunt for a man who’s been robbing banks in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Vermont.
He’s been dubbed the Route 91 Bandit by agents and should be considered armed and dangerous, the FBI says.
The banks he’s hit are in cities and towns along Route 91, including West Springfield, Athol, Montague, Avon CT, and Keene NH.
The Boston Division of the FBI is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to his identification, arrest, and conviction. Agents believe the man may be driving a newer model Nissan sedan.
He’s a white man who’s 5′6″ to 5′8″ tall with a medium build. He has blue eyes and light-colored hair and usually wears a hood or a hat and white sneakers.
Agents say he has threatened the use of a firearm and that during at least six of the robberies, he attempted to enter the vault.
“In the interest of public safety, we’re asking anyone with information about this individual to contact us immediately. We need to put a stop to this man’s crime spree before someone gets hurt. He’s considered armed and dangerous so please take a close look at these images and reach out to us if you know who he is,” said Joseph R. Bonavolonta, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Boston Division.
