LYNN, Mass. — Violence erupted in Lynn on Tuesday, leaving four people - all relatives - dead from shootings.
The victims include three men, and the “potential suspect,” a woman who died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The Essex County District Attorney’s office says it all started at around 2:53 p.m. when Lynn Police responded to 98 Rockaway Street for a report of shots fired.
They found two adult males, ages 66 and 34, dead from apparent gunshot wounds.
“An initial investigation determined that a 31-year-old female was a potential suspect.” according to a statement from the DA’s office.
“Around 4:27, she was located in her motor vehicle in the Stop & Shop parking lot at 35 Washington Street,” according to the DA.
She had died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
“Investigators later discovered an adult male deceased in a motor vehicle outside of 44 Laighton Street.” said the DA.
“All of the deceased individuals are related to one another. Their names and specific relationship are not being released at this time pending complete next of kin notification,” said the DA.
Lynn Police Chief Christopher Reddy said he wanted to assure the community that there is no danger to the public.
