Driver killed in Westwood highway crash

WESTWOOD, Mass. — State Police confirm a man was killed Tuesday following a bad crash in Westwood on Route 128 South near the Westwood Station / University Avenue exit.

The crash happened just before 2:00 p.m.

A 2014 Jeep Wrangler went over the guardrail at the right edge of the road and rolled over, according to police.

The driver was identified on Thursday as 51-year-old Berlioz Florestal.

“The facts and circumstances of the crash, including the cause of the operator losing control of the vehicle, remain under investigation by Troop H of the Massachusetts State Police along with the State Police Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section, Crime Scene Services Section, and the State Police Detective Unit assigned to Norfolk County. Troopers were assisted on scene by Westwood Fire and EMS, and MassDOT,” according to a statement from state police.
